Pacific Northwest Chapter Student Scholarship Program

Scholarship Information

The Pacific Northwest Chapter/ACFE also supports the education of collegiate accounting, business administration, finance, and criminal justice students in Washington state through its annual student scholarship program. University students in the state of Washington are eligible to apply. There is one student scholarship of $500 awarded every year. This scholarship is awarded in U.S. dollars and will be paid directly to the student’s university.

Eligibility

The eligibility and application procedures for the scholarship program of the Pacific Northwest Chapter/ACFE are similar to the ACFE Foundation’s Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship Program, with the following exception:
  • The applicant must be a full-time student attending a 4 year college or university in the state of Washington.
2012-2013 Pacific Northwest Chapter/ACFE Scholarship Schedule:
  • Application Deadline – February 3, 2012.
  • Winner Announced – April 20, 2012.
  • Scholarship Disbursed to Student’s University – April 30, 2012.
Required Documents

  • A PDF copy of the ACFE Foundation’s Ritchie-Jennings Memorial scholarship application
  • A PDF copy of the student's transcript(s)
  • PDF copies of the 3 letters of recommendation used for the ACFE Foundation's Ritchie-Jennings Memorial scholarship application
  • A PDF copy of the student's resume highlighting their on-campus student activities, their off-campus community activities, and their employment history.
To be considered for the 2012-2013 Pacific Northwest Chapter/ACFE academic year scholarship award, the applicant's files must be e-mailed by February 3, 2012. Applicants should save a PDF of their ACFE Foundation's Ritchie-Jennings Memorial scholarship application and e-mail that along with a PDF of their transcript(s), a PDF of the 3 letters of recommendation and their student resume. The purpose of this action is to enter each student’s application in the Chapter’s student scholarship program.

Once a student's scholarship application is received by the Chapter, the Chapter Board of Officers, serving as the Chapter Scholarship Committee, reviews all applications and selects a candidate for the Chapter's student scholarship winner.

If that candidate wins an ACFE Foundation Ritchie-Jennings Memorial scholarship award (one scholarship award per student for their entire university study years), they are ineligible for the Chapter's student scholarship award for that year. However, they may apply for the Chapter’s student scholarship program in a subsequent year (again, one scholarship award per student during their entire university study years). Accordingly, the Chapter Board of Officers will then select the next most eligible student to receive the Chapter's student scholarship of $500.
